Why not just use vinegar or a rust remover from the store myself?
On sealed concrete you sometimes can. The problem is the surfaces people most want clean — travertine, limestone, shellstone pool decks, pavers, stamped concrete — are exactly the ones acidic cleaners permanently damage. Vinegar, CLR, and limescale removers chemically etch calcium-based stone, leaving a dull rough patch that no cleaning brings back and that requires professional honing to fix.
